I work in acrylic and pastel utilizing a color ground as an
under painting then purposely juxtaposing colors, and let the
color beneath come through, to create brilliance and
luminosity. My everyday passions fuel my paintings, some of
these things are; my huge flower garden, an addiction to
pattern, my lovely dogs and cats, the birdfeeder, a weakness
for saturated colors, and an awe of landscapes, weather and
skies, just to name a few. I call my choice of subject matter
"domestic surrealism", because it is a tribute to the beauty in
my everyday world, but is exaggerated, tilted into the viewer,
with portals and windows inviting the viewer to go beyond the
ordinary,
