| Becoming a Member Background Located in the heart of the Willamette Valley in Corvallis, Oregon, TEAL has the reputation as 'the place' to shop for unique, high-quality gifts. Each Fall our team of dedicated artists transforms an otherwise vacant and lifeless store front into a world of color, light and beauty, open for business during the holiday season (November 9th through December 28th). We jury for new artists in the Spring. Our goal is to keep a balance of media in the gallery as well as having enough members to fill a niche in the group. Each member is required to join a committee, attend annual meetings, and work in the gallery during the 2 month selling season. Jury Process Artists are to submit actual pieces representing the entire body of work they wish to sell at TEAL. Clearly label each piece with name, medium, and selling price. Artwork should be presented to the Jury as it would be displayed in the gallery. Work shall demonstrate artist's individuality, imagination and skill with chosen medium. Objects made from kits, molds, or commercial plans are not accepted. Artwork should be created and manufactured by the artist. Please provide an Artists Statement and a Bio as well. Generally, we try to choose new artists whose work compliments our current members' work. Membership requirements: Each Artist Member must: 1. Be accepted by our jury panel. 2. Pay a one time non-refundable $10 membership fee. 3. Work 4-5 8 hour gallery shifts during selling season. (Nov 9th - Dec 28.) 4. Participate on one committee: showroom, promotions, or operations for 4-5 days during the year. 5. Pay a yearly deposit of $150 due by June 1 (a percentage is refunded to participating artists at season's end once gross sales are determined). 6. Become a member of the Board of Directors once every 5 years. 7. Attend annual meetings and gallery receptions.
